Dear Dalene,

I would have written sooner, but I have been in the hospital. I went in last Saturday night around midnight and was there through Wednesday evening. My oxycontin wasn't even lasting an hour for the pain. My white blood cell count was up so they admitted me. I didn't even know I had a temp. They also found a cluster of cysts on the ovary caused from endometriosis. They were giving me morphine, oxycontin, darvocet, toradol, zanaflex, and lexapro for pain. I came home with all of it except the morphine and toradol. They also started Lupron injections which they said I will have to take every 3 months. They told me that surgery for me would be their very last resort. This new medicine is kicking my hiney though. I fall asleep with drinks in my hands and wake up spilling them all over my lap and bed. I didn't even remember picking up the drink I spilled all over my lap and bed. The pharmacist told Ted that it would take me a few days to get used to the new medicines. I am just still in alot of pain. I am really puffy, retaining fluids. Also both my right and left arms and hands are fat from IVs infiltrating. I feel like the BLOB!

I was taking Neurontin 400mg 3 times a day. I was trying to get off some of my medications. I gained alot of weight from the Neurontin. It doesn't do that to every one but it did to me. So I told my doctor I wanted to get off of it. I had managed to get off 2 medications, the neurontin and hormone replacements since my ovary grew back. Now I have 3 new prescriptions from this last hospital visit. I am glad that the neurontin is helping you. It is great to at least have a pain doctor who will help you manage your pain. I know there are others out there who do not have someone managing their pain or even listening to them. That really breaks my heart. I know I need to count my blessings. It really helps though having friends from this site who know what you are going through. I appreciate your friendship as well. You are a rare treasure!

Well, I need to go take my medicine. I am starting to get really uncomfortable. It is a little earlier than it is supposed to be for taking my medicine, but what is 30 minutes going to hurt? I don't think I need to let the pain get out of control. I will talk to you soon.

Love and hugs, Jenny
