OK, it's me again, mary lou. Regarding pain management, I realize that everyone responds differently to pain meds. Those of you who take meds other than over the counter meds like advil, please could you tell us what works for you? I have tried neurontin, and two others like it inthe same category, and was so dizzy I could not think or drive. I tried zylocaine patch with no results. I tried a TENS unit which works briefly, but then when I turn it off the pain is worse than before. I tried fentanyl patch and was extremely nauseated and dizzy. I am very sensitive to med which have a common side effect of dizzyness. I have not tried oxycontin. I know that some of you take that? Does it make you dizzy? I would love to hear from someone out there in adhesion land who has achieved enough pain control to be able to drive to work and get through eight hours of work without severe pain, and with their thinking skills intact. Stress, of course can make any problem worse, but is it possible for stress to make the adhesions grow? Prior to the events of the last six months, I only had adhesion pain in the back; now the adhesions cover my entire torso and my ribs are tied down with them. The stress of the last six months included: taking care of dying mother for 42 days, 24 hours a day admidst brutal family dynamics and an addicted sister living in my mom's house, cleaning out my mom's house, returning cross country to my own home to pack it up, sell it, and join my husband who had moved to another state following one year of not being employed, quitting my teching job of 16 years, which I could actually do, starting a new job in our new town but only being able to do it for three day--had to quit because of severe pain adn shaking. thanks. mary lou
