Dear Lillian, Hi, how are you feeling? I'm finished with this past "suicidal pain" bout. That's become a board phrase I'm sorry to say, but so many of us go through such periodic intense agony that the phrase seems right, as long as we don't act on it. And I know there are many of us in constant pain, but some days are worse than others, at least with me.

Anyway, My Inn is still "kicking" as you call it. We're well established (23 years) and have won many awards, See http://www.howardcreekranch.com and I do have help, I just need more help, with 15 rooms and 60 acres and farm animals and my 94 year old mother-in-law plus being a designated historic site (everything is falling apart - no, just kidding, I have to start being more careful what I say. I joke a lot and people take me seriously.) ANYWAY, our Inn is 180 miles due north of San Francisco on the beach.

We are a romantic get away and a spiritual retreat for people in need of peace and quiet. We don't cater much to families. I talked to my husband about doing "colonic irrrigation therapy sessions" here and he flipped his wig. I'll keep working on him, but he is an artist and envisions an artist's retreat not enemas.

No, I did not go recently for a psychiatric evaluation, maybe I should, but I have been through counseling because all of the doctors kept telling me it was all in my head. So I went to a psychiatrist who talked to me at length and gave me a letter that stated that it was not in my mind, that I was in intense pain from abdominal adhesions (I had great pictures). The next specialist I went to see said that if I had to walk around with a letter from a "shrink" to prove I was sane then I needed a psychiatrist. That's when I gave up and now I just go to my local gyn. for meds after my surgery in 6/2001 with Dr. Reich. I was contemplating surgery in Germany, but this incisional nerve pain idea has reversed that desicion. So I'll just stay home and work. Love, Sally
