My opinon is I would rather be out of pain. My dr has always told me that when it was time to get off the pain meds, she would help me, so not to worry. I have also worried about getting addicted. But, every time I have had surgery, right away, they are cut more than in half. And usually in 2 weeks I am off them completely. I am trying to get my insurance co to cover me returning to Germany for surgery with Dr Korell. I am on Vicodin 10mg (8-10 a day) and MS Contin 30 mg 2 a day (morphine) for my pain right now. If I cant get to Germany soon, my meds will be increased. Thank goodness for families!! I am thankful that my kids are older & don't need 24 hour care. They are old enough to care for me. robin
