Lesa, try having referring to this as a SECOND OPINION with your HMO and see if they will accept it that way. I can't imagine them insisting you stick with one doctor if you're not satisfied. Perhaps it's just the way the referral was worded. If it's denied again, check with your State offices... most states now have an "ombudsman" for complaints against HMOs.
