Dear Jean:

My pain specialist also thought that I might have RSD (Residual Sympathetic Disease) (I think that's right) because of the right-sided rib pain that I have, but if you read about it, it talks about that part of your body going numb, swollen, sore to the touch, burning, inflamed, a piece of clothing can't touch it, etc and is usually contained to a limb (arm, leg). Also, he asked if I would like to have a morphine pump installed, as he said that many having this have gone on to live productive lives and don't have to stay on narcotic pain medication; it's been a thought, but I just don't like the thought of anyone installing anything inside my body. I'm like at the point like just don't touch me, as he's also suggested an epidural and sympathetic nerve blocks - if no one touches me again, they can't do anymore harm to me. Luckily, he's been understanding and doesn't push the matter.

Love,

Helen
