That's the adhesions problem -- surgery can well increase the problem long term. However, if the adhesion has entrapped a nerve and the pain is severe, you may have to risk it.

How much experience does your gyn have with this kind of surgery. Surgical skill counts here. There are also some barriers that can be put in place during surgery like Seprafilm that can help.
