Re: lysis verses excise

Hi Jaynie, I had surgery with an endometriosis specialist 9 months ago. I have had great pain relief, but I too was full of adhesions. I had a radical hysterectomy 8 months before that surgery. Adhesions lysed during the first surgeries, and excised during the second. I do have a problematic area where my ovary was initially attached to my colon. I seem to regrow this particular adhesion over and over again. It eventually leads to partial bowel obstruction, as well as intense hip & leg pain.

You are so soon after surgery in terms of the healing process. It takes your body at least 6 weeks to heal. But unfortunately, the adhesions begin to regrow within hours of surgery.

But if this pain is very intense, you do need to have an ultrasound and see a doctor. Did you have this pain before your surgery or is it new? Are you scheduled for a post-op appointment soon?

On the brighter side, it seemed to take my bowels quite a while after surgery to adjust to being free once again! They had been distorted for so long, they just didn't know what to do! You can always e-mail me at living@nwlink.com anytime.
