I am a fellow adhesion sufferer. The more I learn through this forum and through the kindness of others (i.e. Bev, Karla, and Helen) I have begun to suspect that my friend Beth may have the same thing----she had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis--she continues to have pain, not only in each side of her lower quadrants, but also, in her lower back. She has problems with her bm's and also vomiting.

" It is quite possible that Beth may have developed adhesions after her hysterectomy; because adhesions are the way the body heals itself following surgery...of any kind. Unfortunately, a hysterectomy will not result in the end of endometriosis!!!! Be sure to read and also show Beth the article which I posted yesterday ( May 24th ): "Recurrent Endometriosis After Hysterectomy" by Dr. Andrew Cook, a well-known endometriosis specialist. Also be sure to read the articles, which I have posted in my message: "Women and Doctors"...&...Alternatives in Hysterectomy. I probably should have listed these 2 topics separately; but I didn't. So scroll down to the articles, which I have listed under: "Alternatives to Hysterectomy". There are several articles listed there which also state that " a hysterectomy DOES NOT cure endometriosis."

She has never seen her operative reports and I have asked her to secure these so that we may review them.

" Yes, by all means encourage Beth to ask for copies of her medical reports from her doctor(s)...and all surgical and pathological reports from Medical Records at hospitals where she has had surgery. If any videos were taken of her surgery, she should be able to request a copy of this as well...most likely at her doctor's office. I was able to request a copy of my video at my gynecologist's office. We have a right to have copies made of these reports!! These reports comprise our medical history! "

But she does have quite a problem with cysts---currently she has one on her foot, on her finger, and on the side of her head where a bb that she shot into the end of her left middle finger has now relocated itself on the right side of her head by her ear. She did this many, many years ago---the bb could be either copper or lead.

" I believe that bb's are made of copper."

Does anyone know if this could be the problem or why she has so many cysts coming out? I do believe she is also suffering from adhesions----but, why all the cysts? Any ideas? Also, periodically, her bladder falls "out" and she has to push it back in. Anyone else go through this?

" You said that Beth's ' bladder falls out.' This can happen as a result of a hysterectomy; because with the removal of the uterus, the other pelvic organs lose their support and as a result pelvic organs can prolapse ( fall down ). There is surgical procedure known as Laparoscopic Burch procedure. Thomas L. Lyons, M.D. developed this procedure; and he has trained other surgeons around the world as to how to perform this procedure. Here is the website which will give you some information about this procedure...scroll down about half way to:
