But it was the web site of our Internet service provider which helped me figure out how to remove the Happy99.exe virus/worm. I don't know if this web site is available to everyone, but I will give it anyway. http://home.runestone.net/info/happy99.htm
I had to go through the process twice before I was able to really begin to understand what I was supposed to do. I was really pleased when I was able to do this by myself - considering that my computer skills are pretty limited.
I was finally able to send and receive email!!! There were 14 letters awaiting me. One letter was a little irate sounding because this person was the only person whose letter from me had been infected with the Happy99.exe virus/worm. So I quickly dashed off a letter of apology to this person.
The second letter was a letter of apology *to me* for having inadvertantly sending what she called the PrettyPark.exe virus - the same picture appeared when the attachment was clicked - just a different name. So this time I had to apologize to her for having mentioned her by name in my previous post. She explained that her email address had changed - which explained why I had questioned her intentions.
So to these two people, I am sorry that this happened to you too! It is time to forgive and move on.
