>Hi Toni:

Michele never responded why the doctor knew her bowel had moved. I would think barium studies or other contrast would tell that, but I'm not a doctor. The colo-rectal specialist said that in my case, the bowel being pulled over and stuck on the right wall would probably not cause any problems at all. He says he has seen colons that look like they are tied in knots. I remember you telling me that doctors (all except your gyn) said that the transverse colon being on the pelvic floor was "no big deal." I don't know if you've read my last posts, but the colo-rectal specialist thinks my problem is in my back. His wife had a very similar experience and after a long run around (including the gyn) finally found out she had an inflammation of the sacroliliac joint that referred pain to her abdomen. He confirmed what I thought before I went-that the improvement that came with surgery might have been caused by other reasons than the actual surical procedure. Surgery has all kinds of effects on the body, as does anesthesia. I was also told once by a doc that your body responds to injury (which surgery is)by pouring out steroids which reduce inflammation. This could explain the relief people feel after surgery *sometimes* (not all cases) for adhesions and then they seem to reappear again after a little while. It's very strange. I'm on the way to my pcp now-I should know more later today. I'm not going to another doctor unless my pcp gives me very good reason why I should If he won't do the necessary tests then I'm just going to take ibuprofen and deal with the problems that come of that. I'm sick of it!!!
