research on adhesions barriers

SprayGel looked promising in all that I have read about the uses in Germany, Italy, New Zealand, etc. But I cannot find any current US clinical trials for the product. The "gasless" surgeries being performed in Germany have had mixed results and mixed reviews. Most of the use of Spray Gel was during these "gas-less" surgeries.

Some of the adhesions barriers that have been approved for laparotomy (open) abdominal have been used off-label in Laparoscopic procedures and have resulted in the products causing damage in patients.

The "latest" news about the FDA approval process for Confluent Surgicals products (SprayGel and SprayShield) is from 2002. If in the last SEVEN years there had been sufficient success with the product and progress made in the FDA approval process then we would all be too busy living our pain-free lives after having our last lap surgery where SprayGel was applied and kept those pesky adhesions from forming, again.

If anyone has information on current clinical trials for SprayGel, has had experience with the product, or knows of any other similar product being used (with FDA approval) please post with contact information for trials or surgeons using products. Thanks
