Hello Jl,

I too have had SBO's every year for the past ten years- I am always hospitalized, NG Tube and pain meds for anywhere from one day to five. They typically happen in October/Nov/December. It is very strange and just thought it to be my typical strange gut issues. I have had every test known to god at this point. Even had adhesionlysosis last year.

I am a 40 year old male- in good shape and run quite religously. However, since birth, I have been plagued by gut issues. My first bowel obstruction was when I was 3 or 6 months old. I have had two since then, appendicitis, hernia, and now adhesionlysosis..

Until I started to see specialist up at UCSF, I kept getting the "you have IBS"... There is nothing we can do for you.. I just could not accept that answer and refuse to give up. I was on pain meds for over a year and have gotten off alll of that.. I am trying to figure out what it really is before going ahead with the pain meds again.

The specialist I found is really good. He believes that my intestines have narrowed from all of the scar tissue. The special MRI I had done will give us further ansewrs.

As far as seasonal SBO's- I have no idea but keep getting them...
