I had fertility issues most likely due to adhesions.  At 17 I had an ileostomy due to ulcerative colitis.  5 years later, gall bladder removal.  Then came the adhesions surgeries.  At 25 got married, conceived one and only time at 27 naturally.  At 29 tried to conceive again.  Took fertility treatments including clomid.  I was ovulating, but never did conceive again.  Can say I am very grateful to have the one child I was able to have.  At 41 had a total hysterectomy due to ovarian cysts and frequent periods not treatable by meds.   Adhesions have caused me more grief than any other physical conditions I've encountered in my life (ulcerative colitis and viral enchephalitis are pretty tough things to live through).   It's all really in God's hands and that's what got me through that part of  my life.  I choose to believe that God knew better than I did what I would be able to handle in my life and if he saw fit for me to have more children, then I would.  If not, it was because he knew all.  As it turns out, at 47 years old, I now know that God did indeed know better.  With all the adhesion problems I've had, I would never have been able to parent more than one child.  I am endlessly grateful for the opportunity to be a mother and since I have only been pregnant once in my entire life, I know that I have been blessed.    Caryn R
