If you can avoid a Laparotomy it would be better. Some times they can do hand assisted Laproscopies if there is something that needs to be taken out and they can't get it through a scope.  It sounds like you really like your Doc, but It wouldn't hurt to get another opinion. I had endometriosis  years ago, and from what I understand people who have it are more proned to Adhesions,(My case). Both of my Endo Surgeries where Laproscopic in the 90s. Good Luck! Marlene
