WHY do so many surgeons not believe in adhesions causing PAIN???

Why do most doctors feel that it is a hernia instead of maybe adhesions.  I
have been sent to 2 surgeons because a doctor felt that I had a hernia.  The
surgeon really could not say what it was but not a hernia.  Do adhesions
cause lumps, etc?
