I have applied for disability and was turned down right away. I have worked long enough to get disability when I retire, but was told that I did not have enough credits to get the disability because I haven't worked that much in the last 5 or so years.

My husband has a great job, so I didn't have to work full time anymore, so I just had some part time jobs every now and then. Does anyone know how I can get social security when I retire, but now be eligible for it now? It was not explained very well for me. Because even though I did not work very much, I still paid the SS in every year.
