pain following adhesion surgery

I had a laparascopic removal of adhesions and
my appendix four weeks ago. I am still experincing
pain on the lower left incision site. I called
my doctor who prescribed more pain medication.
Is that what I need or is something wrong in
there? I have no fever, no other complaints, just
pain under the incision in my left lower abdomin
(length of incision is about 1 and 1/2 inches).
My family seems to think I should be up and
running again. What do I need to do?
