Whenever I see endo mentioned I feel compelled to share my views.

I am a 20 year veteran in the war with endometriosis. I've had my share of surgery and spent many years of my life in pain. I've had trouble with adhesions like most of us with endo do. I will say that I consider myself fortunate that compared to many of the stories of others my adhesions are not as severe but they have caused me pain, surgery, and even a bowel resection.

My feelings on your situation are this: Until all endometriosis is removed from your body you are quite likely to continue to suffer with adhesions. I'd say it's possible that your adhesions are a direct result of your endometriosis. When endo implants bleed within the body in response to our menstrual cycle the blood is an irritant to surrounding tissue which causes scarring and adhesions to form. These adhesions cause organs and tissues to become stuck together resulting in pain. It's my belief that it's a viscious cycle until all the endometriosis is removed. Simply removing your adhesions but leaving endo behind is nothing more than a waste of time.

I feel for you as I fully understand the pain y ou're in.

I would recommend that you seek treatment with one of the countries leading experts on endometriosis. Most of our hometown ob/gyns while well meaning, are sorely lacking in the knowledge and skill it takes to find and remove ALL endometriosis. I know this from experience. It wasn't until I traveled across country to have surgery with one of the specialists that I finally got help. Nothing my doctors at home did for me was working.

The doctor who helped me is Dr. Andrew Cook. You can read more about Dr. Cook at his websites: http://www.pelvicpain.com There are only a handful of these specialists around the country but if you are able they are the best hope for freedom from endometriosis and adhesions.

I might also mention that Dr. Cook is a specialist in treating adhesions. Many of his pelvic pain patients see him for surgery specifically for treatment of adhesions, not all of them have endometriosis.

Good luck with everything.
