I'm glad you've found this board but very sorry you had to look for it in the first place!

You've been through so much. My heart goes out to you.

I am a 17 year veteran in battling with endometriosis. I've had multiple surgeries for my endo and adenomyosis including a hysterectomy and double bowel resection and adhesyolisis. Your symptoms send off red flags to me.

With your history of endometriosis and the nature of your recurring problems I would be very suspect that you still have endometriosis and that may be what is at least contributing to your pain, adhesions and perhaps even bowel and bladder symptoms. Endometriosis can cause all of these things.

The problem with endometriosis is that it is very difficult to find a doctor knowledgeable enough about it and skilled enough to be able to surgically remove all the endo lesions from your body. I know the drill. I had more than one useless endo surgery at the hands of well meaning but underqualified doctors. Ob/gyn's consider themselves endo specialists but the truth is, they're not. There are a handful of doctors in the country who specialize in treating endometriosis and pelvic pain. Of course due to the nature of the problem they specialize in they see a lot of adhesion patients. I'd be willing to say that until you have surgery with a qualified endometriosis specialist and get all the endo out you may continue to suffer. Endometriosis is known to cause internal scarring and adhesions. It can cause bowel symptoms and bladder symptoms as well.

The specialist I went to is Andrew Cook. His office is now in Northern California where I live but when I went to him for surgery he was in New Orleans. My husband and I made the trip to New Orleans in Jan. 1999 for my surgery with Dr. Cook. It was a long way to go but the quality of care I received was so much better than anything I'd gotten between the time my endo was diagnosed in 1987 and when I saw Dr. Cook. It was Dr. Cook who relieved me of my endo pain once and for all.

If you'd like to know more about Dr. Cook you can visit his web site at http://pelvicpain.com/ I'd also be more than happy to talk with your further about my experience with Dr. Cook if you have questions.

All my best, Debbie
