A close friend of mine had surgery for to remove her overies because one
was in a fluid filled sack that was large. She had had abdominal
surgeries in the past and was not surprised to find out she had
adhesions. The Dr. said that he had to remove the adhesions so that he
could get the overies out. During the process her bowel split (?) but
he was holding it so her cavity was not contaminated and she was home in
about 10 days. Then only 4 days later the incision came open and bile
and waste products came out. She was rushed to the ER where the same
Dr. did another surgery-had to remove part of her colon and tried to
repair the rest. Now after 7 days in ICU we were told that the colon is
leaking again and that they can not do surgery for 12 to 14 months. She
will have lipids thru IVs to keep her alive. Has anyone had anything
like this or does anyone have any ideas or other sugestions to ask the
Dr.
