Hi, I just have to add a little.......Melissa (daughter) had constipation, pain and had been miserable for years on end. She had had 2 prior surgeries in the US and became worse! The first surgeon would not touch her bowels (only removed adhesions from the female organs) and in the second surgery (different surgeon) we paid for a bowel "specialist". However, try as I might, I never got to meet this specialist and then I was told the bowels were "not involved" after the surgery.........excuse me??? Why then have we had ER runs that we knew were obstructions? When we heard about Dr. Kruschinski, in Germany, we made plans and were off. I am thankful to report that Melissa is back home, doing well and everyday amazed that her bowels WORK. Dr. Kruschinski said there was none of her bowel that WASN'T involved! She either had dense or filmy adhesions on small and large bowel. She also had adhesions of the stomach, liver & diaphragm! Melissa had been in pain since the age of 13, she is now 27 and has little memory of pain free days. On the flight home from Germany, she told me her belly felt relaxed, but she was concerned that she could no longer "feel" her intestines! I had to assure her she was not SUPPOSE to feel her intestines! When she fell asleep during the flight, this mom shed many tears. It broke my heart to know she had been "feeling" her intestines all those years and she thought that was NORMAL! I can't thank Dr. Kruschinski enough for his expert surgical skills and his caring attitude. He is excited to see the ARD patient become well! All it took was a trip to Germany! I encourage anyone dealing with this same misery to begin making your plans. Life can be good. I am seeing it day by day. My pain was back 7 days after surgery I am back on my pain meds.I am working on finances to go to Germany. Unfortunately my insurance has told me they would not cover so Ihave to fight it out on my own. I saw someone asked about the long thin spagetti like BM's. Well if your bowels are stuck like mine it looks like a grape vine of small intestines attached to the top of my abdominal cavity in about 10 different places. My adhesions are mostly in my small intestines. So imagine your food going through all those tangled up areas and ask me why I moan in pain so.I have still pictures of my last 2 surgeries for to show the other docs I go see and I want them to tell me that adhesions don't cause pain. No maybe the adhesion itself isn't the pain buster but the way my intestines are attached you can't tell me that food passing in those intestines pulling and tugging isn't painful. My best regards to you Connie. But when You have been through what I have and know what is happening to you by now and also have pictures to back you up. I think I can manage to explain my case to the docs and know that I want this treatment or that and have the right to refuse as a patient. Lillian >Lillian,
