Is anyone else experiencing the same kind of pain as I am?

In November 2000 I went to Germany to have surgery with Dr. Korell. Intergel was available for him to use; but he didn't - and the adhesions returned!!

In 2002 Dr. Korell performed both an adhesiolysis and an abdominal revision; and he used both Intergel and SprayGel. So far I seem to be adhesion-free; but the abdominal revision has been - and continues to be very painful. Sitting increases my pain.

The source of my pain is within the tissues at the lowest point of the incision from the laparotomy I had in 1970. It is there that I experience constant "burning, knife-like" pain - along with a "pulling up" sensation of my vulva.

Then this pain radiates out to both of my hips - causing "burning, stretching" pain throughout my entire lower pelvic area (within an upside-down triangle). From each hip the pain travels around to my spine - creating the sensation of an ever-tightening "vise-like" grip; and as I said before, sitting increases the pain!!

I have been told surgical intervention will not help this kind of scarring - that it's irreversible. Dr. Korell told me to seek help (injections) from a pain specialist; however, I am not willing to accept the risks connected with injections. In August 2002 I posted the following message, which tells more about my experience with:

Inter-tissual Scarring from a Laparotomy...

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same kind of pain. To be told the cause of this kind of pain is irreversible does not offer any hope.

Please either share your experience on the Message Board - or write to me personally. Thank you!!

Love, Helen
