I would like to point out to any one who is interested that there is a pretty good message board at healthboards (I'm not sure if this is really legit to post this here, so I'm not posting the actual link, but it is a .com). There is also a TMJ board there that seems to get a fair amount of traffic. Hopefully you could also get some opinions and suggestions there. But recognize of course that message boards do not substitute for your own doctor's advice- ok, there's my disclaimer. lol I'm active on a few of their boards, too, and they are very strict about not allowing commercial links to be posted, nor links to other message boards, although I do manage to get adhesions.org in any number of my messages. And you definitely cannot post your e-mail address, as off-board communication is taboo- just read the board rules carefully. I hope your pain-free moments gradually turn into pain-free years. wr

>>>Robin....wondering if you don't have tmj. I read very quickly thru your email so I may have missed if they said that. In the midst of all my surgeries years ago I also had severe problems with my jaw. After one surgery I couldn't even open my mouth to get a spoon in because it had locked after the respirator had been used. About six months earlier I had some kind of tmj repair where they tied back the disc in my jaw..but when they went in to repair it the second time they found the disc had a large hole in it. They removed the entire disc on that side of my jaw. I hadn't had any problems until the last few weeks....now it is really bothering me on the right side. I have known since way back then that there was a problem with both tmj's but we decided we would wait until the right caused more problems. I guess the time is now, but its very low priority right now. Its kinda like the lump on my breast that has the blood blister....it has moved way down on list of priorities. I had been scheduled to have it removed in January but since I was not available and my living was much more important, it moved to the side for the time being...with the doctor's blessings. I know I'll probably hear from some of you, but people have to understand that staying alive and off a respirator is the primary concern right now. If it is cancerous we will deal with that later. Right now, I'm feeling pretty darn GOOD!!!! Today anyway! But, I just thought I would let you know that the tmj could be your problem Robin.
