Dear Amanda, Its hard to say this, but I didn't want a laporotomy
even when I was dying from appendicitis. Please go onto the quilt
and read other people's stories. Are you functioning normally? Do
your organs work? If you are prone to adhesions you may be starting
down a slippery slope to agony and eventually death. I know that sounds
alarming, but read Karla's story. There are no barriers that work on
most people available in the U.S.A. However, Europe, Australia and
other places are using SprayGel which is currently being tested in
this country. Many people, myself included, have decided to have a
laproscopic surgery done by Dr. Kruschinski near Frankfurt, Germany.
He is excellent, plus he uses SprayGel and does not use carbon dioxide.
I am not saying this to alarm you, but there are many years worth of
experience on this board, and you need to educate yourself before you
make a deision that potentially you will regret. I know the desire to
have children is strong, but adhesion prone people need to have special
surgeons work on them. There are only a very few in the world who are
good enough to keep from hurting your organs while they take down the
adhesions. Please, please read the quilt, past emails, etc before you
let anyone do a laporotomy on you. With kindest regards and with only
good intentions, Love, Sally Grigg
