Hello Helen, Karla opened her eyes this morning! Although she remains in a semi-coma state and is intubated (respirator), she is responding! There is a chance that she will pull through. No one knows for sure as she could relapse at anytime.

I do NOT want to give the false impression that Karla is out of the woods; because that is by far not true! Karla is critical...and one does NOT know how she will fare when she does come around this time! She is still critical and no one knows how long this will be for her this time or what the outcome will be...

Karla is a critical ARD patient - always was and always will be! She deserves prayers all the time. Karla deserves so much; and this time her family IS rallying around her. Let's all pray that THIS continues!

Love Bev

P.S. The two websites below will take you Karla's ARD story. At the Pathways to Hope website you will see a visual image of what Karla has had to contend with as a result of TOO MANY SURGERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When this picture was taken, Karla had already had 26 surgeries "to try and repair the damage caused by careless doctors treating adhesions."
