Hi Kel,

You are absolutely right about wanting proof that SprayGel works.... I used the same words exactly.... I wasn't planning to have surgery & SprayGel certainly wasn't in my mind for consideration....I believe it was fate for me... meant to be.

I was admitted to my local hospital when my pain became intolerable, all my vital signs indicated the severe increase in pain: increased blood pressure, to dangerous levels; increase pulse rate; increased temperature; and lastlly my diabetes became unstable and hard to manage....

I was in my local hospital for a week, then the following Monday I travelled to Sydney and was admitted to hospital there under the care of my Gyn Specialist, Dr Jason Abbott. Pain management was again set up and we waited, we knew that I would probably require surgery before I could go home, but when that would happen was unclear at that point.

Then, early Thursday morning Prof. Vancaillie, Jason Abbott and the rest of the team came into my room to say there had been a cancellation in the afternoon surgery list and they had decided that they would slip me into the time slot!! They didn't even have any SprayGel kits at the hospital!!

They contacted the company supplying it in Australia and ten kits were rushed to the hospital, delivered by the Product Manager herself. I was nervous, actually I was terrified, because there was no time to think, I either agreed or I didn't... I trust my doctors and decided to go for it. I can only say I am SOOOOO glad that I did!

The following few lines are the concluding statements about my experience with SprayGel which is found on the homepage of The Australian Adhesions Support Group, and Kelly, you will note that I do say that we don't know the long term results yet: _____________________

It is now 22 days since surgery (Aug 1st 2002) and I still have no pain _____________________ from adhesions. I suspect I may have a few niggly ones on the lower left side, but not enough to worry about or require pain meds to control. It’s those niggly ones that you notice if you get up the wrong way or turn over in bed too quickly. I do suffer discomfort because of my bowel, and my bladder doesn’t always like having ANY urine in it. All said and done I am very happy with my SprayGel™ experience and contribute my quick recovery (until my bowel problem).

Hope for ARD sufferers by using SprayGel™

I believe we now have hope, BUT we should err on the side of caution, it is still a new product and we have no idea how long any of us will remain pain free. We all know the “animal” ARD can be and how we can be suddenly struck down with excruciating pain and then have to fight with health caregivers.

It is my hope and prayer that SprayGel™ will give us the gift of a renewed exuberance and enjoyment of life. I will continue to include updates on my progress and hope that all my ARD friends and sufferers around the world get to find hope in what SprayGel™ is so far offering. __________________

The full story about my SprayGel experience can be found on __________________ http://www.bombobeach.com where you will also find slides taken during my surgery. Someone has to be "first" in having surgery and trying SprayGel… otherwise, how WILL we know it works?

Love & warm gentle hugs, Jo
