Whenever I go into the hospital I am given a K-pad....or a heating pad that has water moving through it. I'll tell you that there is nothing more soothing than this! My doctors have even written prescriptions for the pads, but I cannot find them where they are available to the consumer....only to hospitals. While we are always taught to listen to our parents, this is one time where you need to do what feels good to you. Ask your doctor if he feels it might be harming you and go with what he says. Too many people offer advice when they really don't know what they are talking about. I only listen to about a quarter of what I hear....unless it comes from members of this group.

Laura, Hello sweety!! My Docter when I was in the hospital had me special ordered a heating pad for my abdomen, & it helped me relax it felt grrreeaatttt!!!! Also the nurses at night time would get a towel real wet & heat it in the micro-wave then wrap a dry towel around it, they would tell me to beep them when it cooled off & I did, it really feels good because its moist heat, & works better, So give it a try sweety, it helped me, & that was with an Adhesion Docters approval....Even after surgery when I was cut from my belly button down to the pubic bone they still let me do it, but I had to put the covers over my surgery... Try it sweety, it wont hurt, it will feel wonderful, especially when your trying to relax & go to sleep........................ Love & Hugs, Angie
