Hi Melissa,

You could possibly have adhesions, and unfortunately a scope won't tell you that, only a diagnostic laperascopic surgery can do that....

Please read stories on the adhesions quilt and my story on http://www.bombobeach.com I started off with a hysterectomy in February 2000 and on the 1st of August underwent my fifth major surgery.

You need to continue to complain and be determined to get your doctors attention and to help you find some relief from the pain. One of the problems many women find at the stage you are at now, is a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, the problem is.... it's usually the adhesions on the outside kinking, narrowing or sometimes ending up blocking our bowels that leads to emergency surgery and more adhesions. Get the diagnosis before you get to an acute stage.

RESEARCH,RESEARCH and then do some more, keep asking questions here, read the message boards and our stories, don't get one opinion I say three is the least... you want to find a specialist who BELIEVES that adhesions cause pain and who treats adhesions sufferers with dignity & respect, and that is the problem.... you will need to search to find the right doctor, but they are out there Melissa, just make sure that when you agree to ANY treatments or procedures it is a joint decision between YOU & your doctor, NOT your doctor telling you what you need. A GOOD doctor always LISTENS carefully to what you say WITHOUT talking over the top of what you have to say, or not taking notice or responding to what you have said.

These are all VERY IMPORTANT indicators of a doctor who believes in the "TEAM APPROACH" where the doctor/patient relationship is a two way street.

I am in Australia, so I am unable to recommend anyone to you, but if you want to visit sunny, beautiful Sydney…. LOL that's a different story ;-)

I hope your pain continues to be intermittent and doesn't progress to the constant mind bending and debilitating pain that many have lived with for years.... including me until recently.

Love & warm gentle hugs, Jo
