Robyn:

I really feel for you because I've been in your position with pain due to adhesions on the ovaries and everything else in the pelvic region. Mid-cycles for the last 10 years were hell, starting after a C-section when my eldest son was born in 1992.

I only have some basic suggestions, which you probably already know, but I'll throw them out anyway. Use anti-inflammatories (Motrin, etc.) at the highest dose continually and a heating pad until you can receive better pain medication. You can combine over-the-counter pain killers as long as they're not in the same drug family, so you might try Motrin and Tylenol together.

Lying down as much as you can might help too (which I know is difficult when you have a 5 year old). The pain was always worse for me when I moved around. Sometimes it got so bad I could hardly stand.

When you can afford it, you might consider going to a pain clinic rather than an ob-gyn. Pain clinics are usually run by anesthesiologists, who know more than ob-gyns about controlling pain. I have had success with neurontin, an anti-seizure drug, but it doesn't help everybody. At least get yourself back to the neuro guy to get more Vicodin. You might try Ultracet (tramadol plus tylenol), which doctors seem willing to prescribe because it's not a narcotic.

I don't have any clue to your breast pain, but then I'm not a medical professional. I'm sure many women who frequent this message board are more qualified to provide you with guidance, but I hated to see that nobody responded to you when you're desperate and in pain.

Hang in there. Life will get better for you and you will not always feel like this. Your fellow adhesion sufferers care.
