Helen, You beat me to it and I'm jealous.....please take the time to harass Bev about it!! After I was told that they were going to do one on me, I would stand in front of the mirror and talk about my body after the tummy tuck. Bev used to tease me unmercifully. Sorry to say but Yup, I think you are the eldest......and wisest if that helps! JEAN

By being only what "you" are, you can awaken each morning to a new day that's an opportunity to seek whatever you want- with no previous deceptions to get in your way.

Am I the oldest one here?

Following a laparotomy in 1970 (at age 39) I became the victim of ARD; but it took me 26 years to find information that would lead me to a doctor who would believe me and suggest surgery!

A diagnostic laparoscopy in 1997 (at age 66) proved that "massive adhesions" had attached my omentum to my abdominal wall - involving a 7" by 4" area as if these two surfaces had been bonded together.

It was my constant search for information that helped me learn the truth!! I have never been a "hypochondriac" nor have I been "psychoneurotic" - as doctors had tried to convince me at the Mayo Clinic.

Today (at age 71), I am more than 3 months post-op after my surgery in January 2002. So far I have not experienced a return of adhesion pain. I had abdominal revision (like a "tummy tuck") at the same time - with the hope of becoming pain-free at the lowest point of my 1970 laparotomy incisional scar.

So far I am continuing to experience pain in that area; but not from adhesions! I suspect I may have an entrapped nerve; however, I do know that it is still too early to know for sure - considering that it can take the body as much as a year to heal following a trauma such as surgery.
