I agree with you Robin. There is no since worrying about becoming addicted or having to go through withdrawal until you are painfree and no longer in need of the medication. Doing that just throws up unnecessary hurdles that you need to get over when you don't need to worry about it. Just try and concentrate on being as painfree as you can be. Let your doctor worry about the withdrawal....if you have any. Karla Robin <rmasse2333@aol.com> wrote: Dear Gwen Methadone is used as a pain medication. The percoset can be used for break through pain. I just recently went from MS Contin to the Duragesic pain patch & I have cut down on the vicodin 10 mg for the break through pain. I don't know about the withdrawl on many meds, for me I haven't had too much trouble comming off the meds after surgery. Usually after 2 or 3 weeks after surgery, I am totally off pain meds. My Dr has always told me when it was time to come off, she would help me do it, but I have always been able to do it on my own. My Dr has always told me not to worry about it. I think worrying about it just adds that much more stress. robin
