Re: IVP was negative

Karla, I am not sure why I think I have a fistula. I guess because when my stomache is hurting, then it travels down to the bladder and I have leakage. It just feels like it is all connected together.Do you know what I mean? The leakage seems to stem from the stomache rather than the bladder. I have never had fecal matter come through. Thanks for the info. Kel -------Original Message------- From: adhesions@adhesions.org Date: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 12:29:23 AM To: Multiple recipients of list ADHESIONS Subject: Re: IVP was negative Kel, What kind of fistula are you thinking it might be? Where do you think it would be connected? I have had a number of fistulaes in the past. The first one was the one that actually caused the loss of my bladder. (They had done several repairs to my bladder, actually making a new bladder out of bowel at one point....I had severe infections with each surgery. Because of this I developed the fistula...but I still blame the adhesions because if they had removed the adhesions instead of doing the surgery on my bladder I wouldn't have this problem.) I had a connection from my bowel into my bladder. It was very obvious. My urine was filled with fecal material. The other fistulaes were from my bowel to my abdominal wall. Since I had an open wound it would drain out the opening. Prior to one surgery they had me drinking golytely for bowel prep...this normally makes me vomit, but this time not only was I vomiting but t! he prep was coming out my wound almost as fast as it was going in. I am not a doctor, but I would be more likely to suspect that your problems are caused by adhesions encapsulating your bladder...squeezing it and putting pressure on to cause the leakage (my original bladder repairs were to stop the leakage that I was having) then to suspect a fistula. The symptoms you name just seem to ring so familiar to me. Other than the symptoms I listed above there were no other signs of my having a fistula. When they suspected fistulaes with me, I was made to drink some awful charcoal solution. I don't know if this is something you should ask for....if it would even show up depending on where you think a fistula might be? Just my thoughts. Karla Kelly Murray <mkmurray@cyberport.com> wrote:

Robin,
I have incontinence when I BREATHE!!! I even have it when I am sleeping.
The pessory ring is a devise that is inserted that kind of moves the urethra
and supports things. Gads! It was so painful. The Dr.is just trying
different ways to stop it. So far, nothing helps.
I keep telling them that when my adhesions hurt in my pelvic area is when I
have leakage so I am sure it is connected. I have asked if it could be a
fistula and they keep telling me that it didn't show up but I know that
things don't always show up in their tests.
I feel like I am falling apart. Upper stomache pain, pelvic, back pain and
incontinence. Now my hips are starting to hurt all of the time. Take me out
behind the barn!
Kel

Dear Kelly
Yes, I have incontininence, but mostly when I cough, sneeze or laugh.
Sometimes I have it when I stand up. what is pessory ring? I haven't
hear of it. They have never found any problem with my bladder. I am
sure it is the adhesion. I have always had adhesions on my bladder. I
am 41 and it is very frustrating!! One time, I sent my hubby to the
store to get "pee pads", he came home with Mens!! They are about 3 x
bigger than those for women. I had to use them because that was all I
had! It was almost like a diaper! LOL Once I was feeling better, I
bought womens pads & showed him the difference. He kind of felt bad,
but I thought it was funny.
love
