Most doctors do realize that the oxy doesn't last the 12 hours that it claims to last, but convincing your doctor seems to be the problem. Perhaps if you asked for something for breakthrough pain (most people are offered something else besides the oxy) like tylox, roxycodone. I'm not sure what others have been offered but you may want to ask others at the board. It just sounds like you need one more pill to get you through the day. Hope your doctor will listen to you.
