Hi Jo: Thanks so much for your response to my post. One of the reasons I asked my Dr. to send me to a pain specialist was to learn some relaxation techniques. I know it sounds crazy that at 39yrs old I really don't know how to relax, but I guess from years of nonstop working I've got pretty good work habits but I'm lousy at relaxing. Everytime I try to do something nice for myself, I think of something else I shoud be doing (or forgot to do) and I just can't seem to let it go.

My daughter came to visit on Saturday for a "just girls" weekend, and although at some points I thought the pain might ruin it all, I think having her with me really helped. We chatted a lot so I couldn't be working (or dwelling on the pain) when we had so much catching up to do!

I know that eventually I'll have to have the diagnostic laproscopy if I want to get a referral to a pain clinic, but for now I've decided to take a wait and see approach. I'm hoping that I can get to the point on my own where I can learn to live with the pain, but when it gets real bad I sort of panic thinking that it will keep getting worse.

It really is so nice of you and the others on this forum to respond and help me out. It is great to have someone to turn to.... Wishing you and everyone pain free days,
