Hi Clare

Retro scopes are popular this week!  hehehe  I must say I am pleased to see that more people are starting to research and look for information before committing themselves to any form of treatment.  Many of us here on the board have learned the hard way, and as you have probably read in my message to Cathy, a retro scope or 20/20 hindsight is a powerful tool!  If only there was such a thing as time travel & we could all go back to the beginning of our own nightmare ... and change the course of history (well....for us anyway *shrug*).

As always, the best approach is like approaching a very hungry loin......CAREFULLY!   One of the things you will find very useful Clare is a sense of humor.....it's better to laugh than cry....laughter releases endorphins (like natural morphine one might say) and is a very important part of dealing with any lengthy painful health condition.

I think really, my answer to your plea for advice follows  along the same lines as those I wrote to Cathy.  The most important thing you need to know is that YOU are in control of your treatment, the doctors work for you, you are entitled to know all the options.  Knowledge is power, and also tandemount to your safety, research, read, ask questions and then ask some more...once you are satisfied that you have been given details of all your options, once you feel you have exhausted all avenues of research and information and once you have had SEVERAL opinions from leading medical specialists in the area of adhesions....only then can you be confident to have made the right choices and formulated the best plan of action ... this plan needs to be formulated between you, your GP and your specialists.

Please visit us often, whether it is to vent, cry, seek comfort or to tell us how you are getting along...we will all look for your posts.   I do hope that you will add your personal story to the quilt, and while you are there, read some of the many, many stories already there.  Know that we care and that we don't want others to follow in our footsteps and find out the hard way what can happen.....

Love & gentle warm hugs to you Clare

Jo (Australia)
