Bobbi - Epidural Block

Hi Bobbi,

I have had an epidural block, it was used for pain relief during and after my surgery in April to remove my ovaries. Because I use endone for pain relief, the epidural is considered a suitable "higher" dose of pain relief after surgery, or for a limited time to rlieve the body of constant pain. The type of pain block you would get, still allows you to walk around, the numbing from the waist down epidural is used during surgery if the patient is going to stay awake during the procedure.

Please understand that this is inserted directly in the spinal colum, and there are possible side effects & complications, your surgeon should explain the risks to you before you agree to anything.

I have alerted Helen Chalmers to the procedure you described in your email...the shock treatment via the rectum, she too has great concerns & reservations about this approach. I strongly urge you to seek another opinion as soon as possible, this includes the procedure for the epidural.

I have sent you an invitation to join msn messanger, because I think Helen & I could help you by discussing it with you in a "chat session." If you have any other questions Bobbi, please don't hesitate to contact either Helen Chalmers, Helen Dynda, Dr Wiseman or myself.

Take care Bobbi,

love & hugs Jo (Australia)
