An ileus as he explained it to me after suregry is when you have surgery your bowels so of go to sleep. They do not work right away, that is why they always ask if you passed gas after surgery, the 3rd night after mine I was up all night with terrible pain and when the dr came in ha saw how swollen I was and did exrays on me immediately, he said an ileus can turn into obstruction. An if you were cut open that is laparotomy, everytime they try to dp lap on me I end up with laparotomy! I hope you feel better soon! I will pray for you !!
