I don't know for sure, but suspect "regular" dried fruit is high in the sugar department. Perhaps there is dried fruit from the health food store that has been processed differently? Would be worth looking into.
They have all sorts of yummy things at the health food store here. One of my recent discoveries is Candied Ginger. Again, not sure about the sugar content. But it is a little sweet, a little spicy and helps combat nausea. (Ginger is a natural anti-nausea agent.)
