emergency foster parenting is usually very short term. They may call in
the middle of the night. It could be a day or 2 weeks. Once we had 2
foster brothers that stayed with us for a month because their mom was in
the hospital. Usually most are planned, but emergencies can arrise at
any time. I think I would like the emergencies better, then I wouldn't
get as attached as I would If I had one for a month or more. We had one
foster brother for 5 years, it was hard when he would go visit his
parents and really hard when he left for a deaf school in another town.
