Dear Al,

>From what you've told us, I think you're in the right place, and i'm glad
you found us. It would likely be very helpful for you to visit the Adhesion Quilt and read through many of our stories that are posted there and also to search through the message archives for topics that are of special interest to you.

You ask if you should seek another opinion. In my experience and the experience of many others, going to doctors when it comes to adhesions is often very frustrating and you end up spinning your wheels.

As it has been recently discussed, the only real way to be diagnosed with adhesions, is to have a look inside. Even though we as patients may be 100% sure, there is no other test that will show docs what we are trying to explain.

Many of us have to come to terms with chronic pain, and finding ways to manage it. In light of my recent return of pain after my March surgery, I have looked to these options. I am taking Oxycontin for pain, have decided to take an anti-depressant and am seeking counseling from a doctor who specializes in chronic medical problems.

I hope this helps some, please feel free to write me anytime.

Love,

Janet
