Dear Stefanie:

The only thing that I have found that manages my pain is strong pain medication. I am sorry, but I am not willing to put myself through needless pain, if the pain medication will allow me to leave my bed, take care of my children, house, and lead a somewhat normal life. I would prefer to not suffer, and if one is in pain, the below link will show that only a small percentage will become addicted to pain medication if they are a chronic pain patient, but only those that are taking pain medication for the "HIGH" will become addicted. Please see 'ADDICTION vs DEPENDENCE" Click here: Scheme to relieve yourself from worrying about your being addicted to pain medication. I believe you are taking it because you are in pain, not that you are an addict. I don't understand why doctors would rather see us suffer, rather than letting us live our lives without pain.

Love,

Helen Chalmers
