Toni,

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy last June. So I have no female organs left. I had endometriosis and constant cysts on my left ovary. When they did the hysterectomy they were going to leave my ovaries so I wouldn't have to be on hormone replacements. When they got in there, the left ovary was just ovarian tissue. They said my left ovary really wasn't even an ovary anymore. It was falling apart. The right side was covered in adhesions. So they thought it best to go ahead and take it out so I wouldn't have future problems with it. I think my gyn wants to use the general surgeon because he feels more comfortable with him working on the bowels. I also believe maybe the general surgeon has more experience with this "special tool" that they are going to use, but I don't know that for certain. I totally tust my gyn and if he thinks he needs the general surgeon in there, then I am comfortable with that.

Big hugs, Jenny
