Joy, Adhesions can not be detected by any test. The only way to diagnose adhesions is through a lap. Something can be done about adhesions, a specialist can "remove" or "cut them down". Sometimes one pain medication may not help, but another type will. Vicodine was the one that mostly helped for me, but, at a later time I was given another medication along with it & then the duragesic patch (which is hard to come off of). Most people with pain have depresion, That is a standard questions that Drs seem to ask. Most think it is in out heads, because, it cant be seen on a test. Been there, done that with the colonoscopy, have fun!! An Adhesion Specialist will believe you have pain, I haven't had to convence one yet!! Adhesions can cause a wide range of pain, everyone seems to have it differently, but,, pain is pain. Although it isnt talked about much on here, I think most of us do have pain with sex. If you have any other questions, or if I havent answered them all for you, post again. Good luck Robin
