Here's a little scoop of encouragement for you! This is tough to go through.

I had an infected incision at the end of the summer. For the first few weeks, the home health nurse came each day to check it and change the dressing. I saw the doctor once a week.

Maybe that would reduce the number of trips to the doctor. I know that I was so very tired, each trip outside the house flattened me.

It took three months to completely heal (that doesn't sound very encouraging) but within a week or so the tenderness cleared up and there was no pain. I eased off the pain meds over about three weeks.

I was pretty much homebound during the healing process which gave me a wonderful opportunity to read, daydream, write a bit, and play with my computer.

I found myself most comfortable in a recliner. I did very little housework at first, but had help from my hubby who cooked dinner while I sat on a little sofa and told him what to do. A friend from church came every week and vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen floor.

This is certainly not easy, but it can be done.

Love to you,

Kate
