Zoe, My wife was told also that she could only have full abdominal surgery too. We went to a doctor that was familiar with her and he did it laprascopically and she is better now than the last 8 years. She will probably have to go again in the future but the skill of the doctor and his experience makes the real difference. Korell(Germany) and Reich(USA) are two recommended. My wife saw Dr. Semertzides(adhesion specialist) in Ohio USA. He did the last surgery. It was successful in relieving 80% of her discomfort. Trust us, we have been through it and many doctors(healthy untouched men) have not. Furthermore their experience and knowledge comes from the peer group they practice with. If their group is not up on new skills and techniques, you will not get the attention and help you need. It is tough because you want desperately to trust the doctors you go to, but the hard lessons we have learned is few really know what they are doing when it comes to treating people with severe or complicated adhesions. Please, please please trust the info here. It is working!
