Mary is scheduled for her second look lap on this coming thursday...Dr. Korell will use Intergel Adhesion Prevention Solution, a gel adhesion barrier, again if the area of any re-attachment is larger...as well as he will be using Interceed (TC7)Absorbable Adhesion Barrier, for any localized areas of re-formation...so Mary is confident that all should be well following this second-look laparoscopy. She has felt great to date; but we do think there might have been a re-attachment following that first surgery; but don't we all think like that!! This second-look laparoscopy will be as much of an emotional and psychological security for us - as the physical aspect of taking down and securing any re-formed adhesions - before we leave for home!!
Mary has been walking around and smiling and breathing and happy...and she has at least a 90% reduction in her pain and her breathing at this time...so once she has this second look surgery, we anticipate coming home with a success story. Mary talks of a future - and of changing the face of how this disease will be looked at once she returns to Canada!! She is coming home with her boxing gloves on, folks...as it has been a long hard fight for her..and she is winning!!
