Anne,

Refresh my memory. Who performed your surgery? Thanks for being open and willing to discuss your story. With each person who contributes to this forum, I gain a great deal from it.

To all: Thanks to all of your for sharing here. I feel such a special kinship with each of you.

I have thought and felt some things regarding my condition and then felt really silly about it(kind of like the story Bev shared about the prune juice), only to find out I wasn't the only one who felt that way. It is such a comfort to know I am not alone in what I have dealt with.

I would be interested in actual statistics of Drs Reich & Redan as well as Dr. Korell patients. I would like to know how their patients feel after 90 days, 6 mos, 1 yr and after. Do their patients experience a 100% improvement? Out of all of their adhesion patients, how many of them have recurring problems. I think they are indeed some of our best resources right now, but we still need to go into any surgery being very realistic in our expectations.

I know when I had my surgery this past March, Dr. Daniell (here in Nashville) was very good at counseling me for months prior to me making that decision. I knew what my odds where. It has been so nice to be under the care of someone who understands ARD and how it impacts the lives of those it touches. I was being bounced from doctor to doctor. I was so cynical and frustrated by the time I went in for a consultation with him, I don't think I even let him talk. When he did speak he said (about one of the doctors I'd seen) "Let's give him a pelvis full of adhesions and see if he thinks its in his head" My jaw hit the floor. He completely took the wind out of my sails.

In my case, my outcome exceeded my expectations, but I know that there is always that possibility that they have reformed and I may not know it for awhile. Right now, I am enjoying the improvement I have to its fullest and I will continue to take one day at a time.

God bless all of you this Independence Day!
