I looked around some more, and all I found was yes, with prolonged use (as in addicted for years) it can contribute to liver disease. However, none of them seem too terribly concerned.

Thanks so much for the indepth info on hydrocodone--this was very
helpful.  Someone mentioned liver damage with long term use--can you
tell me more about this? I have been on this drug for several years
because I used it for cramping with menstral periods before my surgery
and adhesion problems.
