Already on Paxil. Better than without it.

Laura, I am not a medical professional; but if you are in a lot of pain, you need medication for your pain !!

If the doctor, whom you are currently seeing, does not want to prescribe anything for pain; then, if I were in your shoes, I would find a doctor who would be willing to help you.

At the very least you need an anti-depressant...because everybody who lives with chronic pain is stressed and does become depressed.

The anti-depressant (amitriptyline ), which I am taking, not only provides pain relief - it also helps me get restful sleep. It is not addicting! The only side effect I have had from it is a dry mouth. Best of all, it is inexpensive!!! But you need a doctor's prescription in order to get it.
